Blue smoke
The lubricating oil enters the cylinder and evaporates when heated to become blue oil gas. The main reasons for emitting blue smoke along with exhaust gas are:
1. The air filter is blocked, the air intake is not smooth or the oil level in the oil pan is too high (oil-bath air filter).
2. Lubricating oil is mixed into the fuel.
3. The piston ring is aligned.
4. The cylinder head gasket near the engine block leading to the cylinder head oil passage burned.
5. Piston rings, pistons and cylinder liners are worn.

White smoke
When a diesel engine crane is just started or in a cold state, the exhaust pipe emits white smoke, which is formed by the evaporation of oil and gas at low temperature in the cylinder of the diesel engine crane. This is especially noticeable in winter. If the exhaust pipe still emits white smoke when the engine is warming up, it is judged as a diesel engine crane failure. The main reasons are as follows:
1. The cylinder liner is cracked or the cylinder gasket is damaged. Cooling water enters the cylinder and forms water mist or water vapor when exhausting.
2. Poor atomization of the fuel injector and dripping oil.
3. The fuel supply advance angle is too small.
4. There is water and air in the fuel.

5. The pressure of the fuel injection pump is too low or the piston, cylinder liner, etc. are severely worn, causing insufficient compression force.
